Migrating from one computer system to another or, worse yet, from handling things manually to a computerized environment can be a daunting task, to say the least. UAS is written in Visual Foxpro which allows for the importing of many different types of database files as well as other formats such as Excel, Lotus, etc. Customer, vendor, G/L accounts, and inventory items files can be uploaded into the system from countless other formats.

A big hurdle for many businesses is the proliferation of manufacturers now supplying their inventory pricing via electronic media. While being extremely convenient in theory, the big dilemma has always been the lack of a standard format to which all manufacturers could comply. Thus, one disk arrives in ASCII format, another in comma-delimited, and another in Microsoft Access or Excel. Compounding the problem is that each manufacturer may call a common database element by a different name. For instance, a field containing the price for an inventory item might be called Price, List, List Price, Price A, Sell, Sell Price and so on

Whether it be CD's, disks, or downloads, UAS has a great feature that now allows users to prepare and import this data easily. Prices can be automatically updated for existing items and new items can be added to inventory quickly.
